Lab work is included in the curriculum to ensure that every student understands the concept. Students gain first-hand learning experience by conducting their own experiments,through the various techniques and hands-on activities.Students are taught to use models and understand various scientific theories and concepts. The laboratory is equipped with the modern technology needed to provide a learning environment. Experiments in chemistry, biology, and physics are demonstrated by qualified and experienced teachers who ensure the highest level of safety and hands-on activity for all students.Demo classes are organized for classes VI and above.
Students view mathematics as a dull and boring subject. It is a common observation that a large section of student population considers mathematics to be a difficult subject. This is so because, the subject is taught in a mechanical manner wherein students are made to memorize formulae/algorithms and have to apply these formulae/algorithms in solving problems. All this creates a phobia in the minds of students towards this subject. In order to appreciate the nature of mathematics and to make mathematics learning interesting and joyful, the teaching-learning process has to be completely revamped.
To make mathematics fun and interesting, we at MAHARASHTRA PUBLIC SCHOOL, AURANGABAD have set up a Mathematics lab for our students to learn about various concepts using various Maths equipment, manipulatives for various activities. This helps the students explore, experiential learning in Mathematics. Learning Mathematics by doing is perhaps the best way to dispel all fears. There will be no fear if children can understand the concept. Learning becomes more effective with a Maths Lab. Our Mathematics Lab is fully equipped with all modern equipment. Here, students work in groups and make use of mathematical aids and make different models for the better understanding of concepts. The work sheets are also designed to achieve the goals for comprehensive understanding of concepts, to develop better visualization, and effective practical approach.
